How to vote in Sweden
The European elections take place in Sweden on 9 June 2024. Swedish and EU citizens who are or have been registered resident in Sweden and who attain the age of 18 years no later than on the day of the election are entitled to vote. It is also possible to vote in advance, by proxy or from abroad.

In Sweden, voting for the European Parliament takes place on 9 June 2024, but already from 22 May it is possible to vote in designated premises in Sweden and abroad. If you are abroad, you can also vote by mail from 25 April.

As a Swedish or EU citizen voting in Sweden, you usually vote in a polling station in the district where you are included in the electoral roll. The exact location of the relevant polling station is stated on the voting card. People entitled to vote will receive a voting card in the post, approximately three weeks before the elections. If you are abroad, you can either vote by post or vote in advance at a Swedish embassy or consulate that organises vote reception.
If you wish to vote by post, you must have special postal voting materials. These materials can be ordered from the Swedish Election Authority, a municipality, or a Swedish embassy or Swedish consulate.
Postal votes shall be sent from abroad. Postal votes may be arranged no earlier than 45 days prior to election day. Postal votes must have arrived by the time votes are counted.
You can vote early at embassies and consulates not earlier than 24 days before election day. You cannot vote on election day from abroad.
