How to vote in Cyprus

You are eligible to vote in the European elections in Cyprus if you are:

• at least 18 years old on election day
  
• a Cypriot or an EU citizen with an habitual residence in Cyprus for a period of at least six months immediately preceding the date of acquisition of electoral qualifications, or with an habitual residence in any other EU country in the same six-month period, provided that, on the day of registration in the electoral roll, you have your habitual residence in Cyprus.
  

Consequently, as a Cypriot citizen who resides abroad permanently, you do not have the right to vote from abroad, unless you had met the six-month residency requirement prior to registering on the electoral roll and moved abroad afterwards.

Cypriots and other European citizens in Cyprus
As a Cypriot or European citizen in general, you vote at a specific polling station based on your residence.

Cypriot citizens abroad
Not all Cypriots can vote from abroad in the European elections.
If you meet the condition (residence in Cyprus for six months before your registration in the electoral roll and move abroad at a later stage) you are entitled to vote from abroad.
The authorities of the Republic of Cyprus will operate polling centers in Greece, the United Kingdom and Belgium - in embassies or elsewhere - in cities where more than 50 voters request to vote there. Foreign voters are registered in a special electoral roll and can only vote in person on election day. Declarations can be submitted either electronically via the internet, or in paper form, until April 2, 2024.

Cypriots and other European citizens in Cyprus
You must have previously registered. You can download and fill in the registration form directly from the election service website Elections.gov.cy. You can also find the form at the District Administrations, Citizen Service Offices and District Post Offices.
